![]() August 30, 2006 Ohio Wesleyan Welcomes New Faculty and Staff Swimming along in the OWU sea of familiar faces this fall are several new additions to faculty and staff. Lydia Block was hired as learning disabilities specialist. All learning disabilities services previously provided by the University will be consolidated under Block's direction. It is not at all unusual for an institution such as Ohio Wesleyan to have a learning disabilities position. "National trends demonstrate that more students than ever are entering college with diagnosed learning differences for which students receive support while in high school," says Margaret Drugovich, vice president for strategic communications and university enrollment. "Dr. Block provides these students an important resource as they adapt to the demands of OWU's changing curriculum." Most recently, Block has served as a consultant to colleges and universities, high schools, families, and students with learning disabilities and ADD. Jeanette Mouton will serve as director of human resources, overseeing daily operations such as processing new employees, employee benefits, employee relations and retention, employee communications, wellness programming, the hourly employee classification system, compensation/payroll administration, and personnel record maintenance. Before coming to OWU, Mouton served as manager of human resources at Home Depot and associate director of human resources at Wittenberg University. Charles Stinemetz '83 has been named dean of academic affairs. He will be responsible for curriculum, student grievance and honesty procedures, and department and program budgets. Stinemetz will also oversee two new associate deans who hold part-time appointments, Barbara Andereck, associate dean for assessment and accreditation, and Dale Swartzentruber, associate dean for institutional research; as well as two existing associate deans, Blake Michael, associate dean for advising and off-campus programs, and Joan McLean, associate dean for first-year students. Most recently, Stinemetz was the Robertson Chair of Biological Sciences at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. Ohio Wesleyan also would like to welcome:
