Enhancing OWU’s Arboretum Ohio Wesleyan students and botany professor David Johnson recently installed new aluminum tree identification markers for OWU’s Jane Decker Arboretum. The markers were donated by Henry Decker, husband of botany professor Jane Decker, who taught at OWU for 20 years before her death in 1988. Faculty and students use the arboretum as a living laboratory to study trees and other woody plants. Learn more about the Jane Decker Arboretum.

First Football Game Played ‘Under the Lights’ at Selby Field
The ‘OWU Under the Lights’ event on September 25 featured the Battling Bishop football team against the Fighting Scots of The College of Wooster. Here are some highlights, which included David E. Griffiths ’51, turning on the ceremonial switch. Griffiths was the lead donor for the new energy-efficient lights. This event was also the first public appearance of the new, determined-looking Battling Bishop mascot. The final score for the game was Wooster 22, OWU 13. View the game in its entirety at StreamOWU.
