Eve 6 to Play at Ohio Wesleyan

Eve 6
Here’s to the night we felt alive
Here’s to the tears you knew you’d cry
Here’s to goodbye
Tomorrow’s gonna come too soon…

“Here’s to the Night” by Eve 6

Certain songs often take us back in time to memorable people, places, and occurrences in our lives.

“Here’s to the Night,” by Eve 6, an alternative rock band scheduled for a March 28th concert at Ohio Wesleyan, is one of many familiar soundtracks recognized by OWU’s students. For some, the song’s lyrics reflect change, and the closing of a variety of life’s chapters.

“They [Eve 6] hit it big in 1998 with their song “Inside Out,” followed by the ballad “Here’s to the Night,” off of their next album,” says Rachael Roettenbacher ’08, general manager of  WSLN 98.7 FM, OWU’s student-run radio station. “They were selected because they have an appeal to OWU students. Eve 6 had their biggest songs when we were in middle and high school, so it is a bit of a nostalgic event. In our age group, the songs of Eve 6 were virtually unavoidable.” Roettenbacher also was looking for a group that would not only draw students, but also heighten awareness of the radio station.

“I’ve been a fan of Eve 6 from the first time I heard them,” she says. “When I found out they were possibly touring in the spring, I jumped on the chance to see if we could bring them to OWU.”

Each Ohio Wesleyan student can receive one free ticket to the concert, which will be held in Gray Chapel. Tickets are available to students (bring OWU identification along) from March 17-28 in the campus center from 11;30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets also can be purchased during that timeframe for $15, and online through TicketWeb.

The event is sponsored by WSLN 98.7 FM and WCSA. Doors will open on concert night at 8 p.m. and the show will start at 9 p.m. For further information, contact OWU’s  Student Involvement Office at 740-368-3188.
